I moved away from Kindle and bought a Kobo Libra Colour and started using Calibre to sideload my books. I kept getting a fatal corrupt error when unplugging from my M1 Macbook, despite ejecting from Calibre. The error kept having me sign out and resign in. Turns out it’s a Spotlight indexing error.
Prevent indexing is the solution!
In terminal:
sudo touch /Volumes/KOBOeReader/.metadata_never_index
