This image is my final result of a tree after spending an hour on my assignment.

My first class project is called: Draw Something Cool in 3D!
I love the professor’s exclamation point. Anyway, I instantly thought of a tree – specifically the trees from Frozen 2 in the Enchanted Forest. After an hour, this was my result. I’m actually a little proud of my purple tree, which I see now see should be more of a natural autumnal orange.

Also, I really went down the rabbit hole when trying to find a credible Disney source for the “Expectation” image of the Enchanted Forest. Basically, I reversed image searched then landed on this blog’s post to end up looking at Disney Animation Technology > publications > Frozen 2 Effects Vegetation Pipeline where they published a paper and did a talk at SIGGRAPH 2020. (watch the video too!)

Anyway, I was excited by the publication because I used to recruit PhDs at academic conferences around the same time. I didn’t specifically work on SIGGRAPH but, close enough.

Note to self: read the other publications.
